Amidst the traffic and our busy schedule, my husband and I made ourselves available to accompany our two girls to a ballet sample class in order for them to experience first-hand and have a real-feel if they would like to enroll in a regular class.
We visited the renowned Halili-Cruz School of Ballet in Quezon Avenue, Quezon City where other parents with kids aspiring to be ballet dancers were also trying to decipher enrolling their kids to a ballet program.
Upon the graceful entry of the first performers wearing their tutus, I can already see the twinkle in the eyes of my girls, It’s a different flicker from whenever I see them being delighted with ballet recitals from youtube videos. Maybe it’s because this is a live performance done right in front of them.

For the past 18 years, the Philippines has been represented by the Halili-Cruz School of Ballet (HCSB). So far, the school has been a consistent winner, bagging the First Prizes and the much coveted Aggregate Award (over-all champion) for getting the highest marks in their entries.
This year, HCSB will be bringing 75 dancers personally trained by the HCSB teachers and will be presenting 40 entries originally choreographed by the HCSB choreographers.
With all these, I can't wait to see my kids excel in ballet and soon be part of this prestigious dance school.
