I can feel the election fever once again, several candidates are now hugging the airwaves as they start their stealth campaign.  Technically, the budget they spend now won’t be computed on their campaign restricted budget when the official campaign period starts.

Call me pessimist but I don’t believe that there is one candidate who is not after money, set aside legality, everyone needs money and running a country requires money.

It seems that no matter how vigilant we try to be during the previous elections, we still cannot come up with a clean election. It might be a long shot before we can have an honest to goodness election but coming in full force to try to hinder anomalies will give us a sense of satisfaction as we lessen these irregularities.

BAYAW

TV5 recently introduces “Bayaw” a satirical person that show us how we are during election period and it aims to let us see the “what nots” as it launched its election coverage campaign which promises unparalleled engagements with Filipino voters through combined media: Broadcast, Digital, Mobile and various social platforms.

Bayaw is a term which means “ brother-in-law” but also being used as we refer to someone who is close to us, a term we call our community brothers or simply someone we exchange favors with.

Bilang Pilipino 2016

With a hashtag “BilangPilipino”, TV5 aims to touch the heart and emotions of every Filipino with its dual meaning: Bilang (count) and Bilang (being) and try to encourage the nation to take part in the coming elections.

TV5 believes that with the current technology, news is at its fastest and every Filipino can give their share through social media.

“This will be a 360-coverage as only the Kapatid Network can deliver, “ TV5 President and CEO Noel Lorenzana said at the Marriott Grand Ballroom as he raise the curtains on “Bilang Pilipino 2016”.

This partnership brings together the nation’s top media: PLDT, SMART, CIgnal, Philippine Star, BusinessWorld, Radyo Singko, InterAksyon.com and Bloomberg Philippines as they deliver news, information, opinion and insights about the elections.

You can access Bilang Pilipino on TV, Radio, Newspaper, cable, computers and even o your Phones and Tablets.

Data Driven

Given its extended media leverage, it utilizexs not only off the multi-platform distribution capacities of the PLDT group which TV5 is also a part of, but also through strategic partnerships forged with different government, civil society, the academe, and the private sector.

Bilang Pilipino 2016 will be mounted in cooperation with, among others: Comelec, Namfrel, PPCRV, CBCP, KBP; Academic communities of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Ateneo, UP, FEU, UST; the Social Weather Stations, Makati Business Club, Philippine Business for Social Progress, Philippine Chamber of Business Commerce and Industry; and Technology partners: PDT Alpha, Voyager Innovations, and Talas.

With these developments, FIlipinos will find it hard to have an excuse not to be counted. It will be hard for us not to extend our efforts in trying to keep this election as clean as possible.
