This Asian destination is close to my heart as a fanatic of the original F4 and Meteor Garden, 90s kids would agree to this. For some reason, I never got to fulfill that yearning to visit the country.
Food-wise, Taiwan is also considered as a culinary destination for many. A promise of street-food galore from the many famous night market of Taiwan. Thus, when Taiwan announced last year of opening the country for tourist Visa-free for Filipino Citizens, a lot of Kababayans jumped to excitement and grabbed the opportunity.
Based on data from Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines, there were 290,784 visitors from Philippines last year, surging 68.59% over the year before and is still growing fast. According to Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s statistics, this year from January to August, there were already more than 285,000 Philippine visitors traveling to Taiwan.
To those who have not yet visited Taiwan, now is the best time
To appeal to more Filipinos traveling to Taiwan, Taiwan Tourism Bureau together with Taiwanese travel agencies held a two-day travel promotion event at Robinsons Place Manila last November 10 & 11, 2018.
Visitors were treated to performances such as of aboriginal dances, DIY Beadwork and other family friendly activities. Through the interaction with people, dedicated stalls featured on Taiwanese theme parks, hot springs and gourmet are ready to show the characteristics and attractions of Taiwan.
Different programs were highlighted in each session. Activities and programs included “Mascot Greet-and-Meet”, “Post to Win Freebies”, “Limited Milk Pearl Tea for Free”. The organizer also invited local web celebrity director “Mark Christian” to share his experiences of shooting travel film in Taiwan.
Moreover, limited presents from Taiwan Tourism Bureau was offered at Tourism Bureau counter with purchase of any package tour or flight and hotel package at the event.
