In a couple of days, moviegoers especially those who are into action films will be treated to an action-packed film featuring legitimate martial arts fighters who are known in their respective field. This makes the film believable and noteworthy as the actors make their natural moves as opposed to hiring doubles to incorporate in fight scenes.

“Wow, everyone can fight!” This is the sentiment of the press during the press conference where the movie trailer was shown. The Trigonal, a film by award-winning director Vincent Soberano was described as “badass” relating to a story filled with action mixed with a variety of fighting styles headlined by Filipino Martial Arts, to tactical gun battles by a real squad of police SWAT officers.

Written and Directed by, Vincent Soberano, who is a former Soldier, Muay Thai World Champion, MMA coach of about a dozen UFC fighters and a veteran of more than hundred pro fights.

The Trigonal, the movie is set in the picturesque landscapes of Negros Island, with its gritty, dystopian underground fighting arena and a drug lord’s exotic island fortress. Watching the movie will make you ask whether this is a real story of incidents.

Soberano make it a point to assemble an international line up consisting of Filipino stars going head to head with foreign counterparts. The movie is also predominantly in English, easily justified by the Filipino-American main characters and the strong mix of foreign characters including the film’s creepy antagonist.

The movie starts with a heartwarming romantic story that gets you teary-eyed, but then quickly moves to tragic, chilling act of violence that leaves you disturbed, and finally leads you to a path of vengeance and the fight for justice that will keep you chilling till the end.

The thing about an action films with great martial arts fight scenes is that the choreography will always keep you on the edge of your seat, guessing what’s next. The art of martial combat opens up a repertory of fighting styles, sequences and moves that are unpredictable and unforgettable. The key is to find the right people to pull it off.

The line up in this movie is no joke. It is truly without a doubt, badass. “being on the set of The Trigonal is like being at a martial convention,” Soberano recalls You’ve got guys practicing arnis on one side, another working on JuJitsu, choke holds at another side, and the few full contact sparring matches in the ring.”

Get ready as it shows in cinemas starting September 26, 2018
