Revenge spending and Revenge Travel are two of the most talked about phenomenon these days as people are starting to get out of their shell. As much as I want to jump inro the bandwagon, I prefer to wait a bit more before I visit another country again. One such place that my family misses would be Singapore and the cuisine that goes with this land of melting pot. As a self-confessed lover of SG induced comfort food.
If I have to ask around what comes to mind when you thought of Singaporean Comfort food, I’m sure these would be the top choice: Laksa, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Nasi Lemak and Kaya Toast. Luckily, I don't have to travel far in order to get my tummy fill of this mouth-watering food as these are within reach just by going around the Metro.
My go to place for these would be Nanyang as they now have several stores around the metro. Let's breakdown what I love in their menu.

Nanyang Laksa (268) can be served with either Fish ball or Prawn as main topping. As for spiciness, they lean towards mild spicy as it is adjusted to Filipino tastebud but you can definitely savor the authenticity of the rempeh that gives Laksa that distinct taste.
Hainanese Chicken Rice (268) Either original or fried version comes with all the sides you will expect, Boneless white chicken, Chicken Rice, clear Soup, Bok Choy and the staple of 3 dips - sweet soy, chili and ginger-scallion paste.
Nasi Lemak (248)- This deep-fried coated chicken fillet generously comes with toasted peanut, anchovies, fried boiled egg, slices of Cucumber and their signature Sambal Paste.
Nothing beats neutralizing your tastebuds with Nanyang's Kaya Toast set (168) which consists of Kaya Toast, 2 Soft-boiled eggs and your choice of either Hot/Cold Kopi (coffee) or Teh (tea).
They still have other stuff which I would come back to try as my tummy is full to the brim but notably present in my bucket list are their Curry ChickenThick kaya toast and Mango Sago Pomelo. Price range is definitely affordable and will not qualify as revenge spending haha
