There is something about coffee that I couldn’t stand a day without it. I am a coffee junkie and caffeine starts my day, gets me through the afternoon and helps me relax at night.
I’m more of a brewed coffee/espresso type of coffee drinker and so does my hubby, he’s usually the one in charge of preparing our java fix in the morning while I prepare our breakfast. For us, nothing beats the aroma of a freshly ground beans in the morning.
Although I prefer fresh brew over instant coffee, the latter has its own appeal as it can be prepared faster which is great if you are always on the go.
It also comes in handy during budget out of town trips where in-room coffee sachet is just as bad as it could get. I usually bring along a few sachet of instant coffee of my choice, that way, I can enjoy a good cup or two.
I recently came upon a fairly new brand of coffee in the market which taste closest to freshly ground coffee and it has a nice name to go with it – Maskape.

Reading the label, it is derived from choice Robusta coffee bean which explains why it doesn’t taste artificial. I particularly liked their “Strong & Rich” variant but you can choose other taste level such as Brown and Creamy which I surmised is sweetened with brown sugar. White and Creamy for those who love their coffee with lots of milk. They also have plain black variant that comes in Original blend and Barako for those who likes it strong.
Planning to try this brand in my next baking expedition which require coffee powder…Tiramisu!
Maskape is locally manufactured and available in most grocery stores nationwide for only Php5/sachet. 7-Eleven stores are also selling their twin pack for only Php10.
