I grew up in the area near Tutuban center and I have always been delighted at how their merchants sell the most affordable items there is. I assumed that the principle came from the Chinese thinking of “Profiting less but selling more quantity” that is why it has always been the go to place of the general public. I have also witnessed how the establishment has evolved yet was able to preserve the heritage facade.
The establishment recently set another milestone as it lit up Tutuban’s sky line once again with the holding of the traditional giant Christmas tree lighting ceremony of Manila’s tallest Christmas tree yet.
Tutuban Center, Manila’s Christmas shopping capital, hold this yearly tradition to remind everyone that the Yuletide season is already at hand. The giant Christmas tree stands at 50 feet tall, with materials sourced from different provinces around Manila and proudly designed by Tutuban Properties, Inc. (TPI) personnel, a breakthrough in TPI’s long history.
The ceremony was held at the Tutuban Center Shopping Plaza and was attended by top TPI executives and respected guests. This year, Tutuban Center’s Christmas celebration carries the theme “Paskong Sulit sa Tutuban Center”. This years’ theme was meant to uphold the image of Tutuban Center as the place where Filipino families and friends can spend their Christmas shopping time and make it super sulit sa saya at sa oras for family bonding.
