We jump into anything offered for Upsize and often say yes when the counter crew ask if you would like to avail of it. Going for the bigger portion is the basic human choice unless you are on a diet. Agree with me?
Most would answer yes and to those who do, here’s something you will definitely say yes to:

12-inch Fried Chicken by Hot Star
Hot Star Large Fried Chicken is a fast food phenomenon that started in Taiwan’s Shilin Market as a little kiosk back in 1992, (this may have been the inspiration in building Taipei 101, world’s Landmark as enormously tall skyscraper back in 2004), kidding aside, Hot Star soon became the biggest fried chicken name in Taiwan as it sold 3000 pieces per day.
Other countries started getting its Franchise with the Philippines following suit in 2014. Hot Star Philippines started serving the oversized fried chicken on its first store in Blue Bay Walk in Macapagal Avenue.

Since then, Filipinos were drawn to the distinctly aromatic flavor of its XXL fried chicken and mind you, you no longer need to ask for an upsize on this one.
New Flavors
Hot Star Large Fried Chicken recently added several new delightful twist of flavors to complement their original Large Chicken and Crispy Large Chicken, these are: Salt and Pepper, Chili Pepper, Barbeque, Sweet & Sour and Red Hot. Oh and yes, this will go well with their Crispy Large Fish too.

I tried a couple during my latest visit and instantly became a fan of the Red Hot and Barbeque flavor.
They also added another side dish to their menu, Sticky rice (this reminds me of another Chinese favorite- Ma Chang). Its stickiness complemented very well with the flavors of the chicken which added a Chinese authenticity.
Another thing that will surely give your appetite a kick, are their Chicken skins, breaded and fried to crisp perfection. You can hear the crunch on every bite. Warning: Don’t bring this on a movie date.
They also offer other sides such as Fries, Mash Potato, Mushroom soup and Crunchy fruit salad.
Kids and Kids-at-heart will also love their spaghetti, it blended well on the Filipino-taste that’s leaning a bit on the sweet side.
Snack-time favorites includes Chicken burger and Chicken pops. I tried the Fish Burger and got instantly drawn particularly of their tangy honey-mustard dressing.
Craving for sweets is not a problem
Asian favorites, Black Gulaman Ice crush or Almond Ice crush, feeling fickle? You can go for combination. They also have soft serve ice cream with the same flavors.
