Pirouette, Pas marché, Jeté, pas, Écarté are some of the ballet jargons I usually hear whenever my girls watch ballet videos on youtube. My 7 and 3 year olds are so fond of playing ballerinas donned in their tutus which prompted me and my husband to consider enrolling them in a ballet class soon.
Ballet originated in the 15th Century Italian Renaissance Courts and later developed into a concert dance form in France and Russia. It has been globally influential and has been the foundation of other dance genres.
