Many of us must have read or heard of the magnificent Great Wall of China. Some may have been there themselves and agrees that the view is spectacular. The Great Wall of China is made of stone, brick, tamped earth, wood, and other materials, generally built along an east-to-west line across the historical northern borders of China to protect the Chinese states and empires against the raids and invasions during 7th century BC. This historical place is located in Beijing, China.
But Beijing is more than that. Last September 21, 2018, A successful Beijing experience was held at SM Aura Premier was seen as the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development once again brought “Charming Beijing: Beijing Tourism Promotion” to the Philippines.
Visitors were treated to cultural shows and exhibit that highlights Beijing and the Chinese culture. Guest were able to sample Chinese sweet delicacies as well as learn about the ancient art of Chinese Calligraphy that made them realise that Beijing is truly more than what we heard or read on books.

It was an eventful day wherein guests were able to catch a glimpse of the charm and beauty of China’s capital that is Beijing. With the theme, “The Silk Road Bridges East and West, New Beijing Resonates with People,” it reflects China’s endeavours to revitalize the Silk Road’s eminence into the modern times.
“Today, we hope to use this opportunity to promote Beijing tourism, deepen tourism cooperation between the two countries, let more Filipinos understand China, understand Beijing, and further expand Beijing’s reach and connection in the Philippines tourism market,” said Li Zunjing, Director of Legal Affairs Department, Tourism Department, Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development, during the Charming Beijing program.
The event also showcased many of Beijing’s unique characteristics. People were able to visit the Great Wall of China via the Beijing Virtual Reality Experience. The artists within came out as guests immersed in the enjoyable “I Heart Beijing” Arts and Calligraphy Workshop. Attendees also got to try the 360° Beijing Photo Booth where they dressed up as an emperor or empress while striking a pose. And lastly, the Beijing Photography Exhibit gave a chance for the attendees to see the different views of China’s charming capital. Guests also witnessed a Traditional Lion Dance by the Rui Dragon and Lion Dance Group and a wushu exhibition by the Philippine Cultural College Wushu Lion and Dragon Team.
