A couple of days ago, I was fortunate to be invited during Sun Life’s Market Outlook 2H 2019. Armed with hope for a positive Philippine economy after the recent election, getting these insights from one of the country’s top financial institution is such a welcome relief.
First agenda that was announced is that, Philippines has now gained a credit rating of BBB+, now what does this means in layman’s term? This rating translates to PH having an adequate capacity to meet its financial commitments.
This rating also means that interest rates can go down, thereby creating a better financial environment for our country, investment-wise. This also means that now is the best time for those who have not yet invested in any type of funds to start.
Most newbie in investing have these qualms in starting an investment:
1. Not enough fund to start one
2. No knowledge in investing
To borrow a tagalog cliché’ “Pag gusto, maraming paraan; Pag ayaw maraming dahilan”. We can always send out reasons for not giving in to financial literacy and aiming for a brighter future but where will it lead us?
To help make investing in mutual funds even more accessible to Filipinos, Sun Life Asset Management Company, Inc. (SLAMCI) is launching a new variant of its Sun Life Prosperity Card in a lower denomination of only P1,000 (The minimum amount used to be P5,000)
The Sun Life Prosperity Card is a stored value investment gift card that may be used to invest in peso-denominated mutual funds managed and distributed by SLAMCI. It may be purchased for personal use or perfect gift option to loved ones for any occasion.
Since its launch a couple of years ago, Sun Life Prosperity Card have been a preferred gifts in weddings and birthdays. This way, recipients will not only receive a monetary gift but also a monetary investment.
