I have been a follower of UP Dharma Down’s music since they started out as a mainstream band back in 2006 and listening to Hiwaga made me appreciate Armi Millare’s vocal prowess.

The band has received numerous award here and abroad and most of their recent performances are held outside of the country.

In their recent trip to Singapore, A collaboration was hatched and they have been inspired to come up with the song “All the good things” comprising of the experiences they encountered during their stay there.

On a personal level, I must admit that Singapore is also my top choice in Asia as a place to revisit. The clean environment and disciplined citizen are some of the elements I consider. Their food on the other hand can’t be set aside as Singapore serves some of the best Asian dishes and I am impartial with Singaporean Laksa and Cereal prawn, yum yum.

Obviously, Up Dharma Down was also captivated with what Singapore has to offer and these are their raves:

The trip took the band on visits to quirky places like Haji Lane to explore concept stores that featured unique creations by local designers and artisans, and stops at various Mod-Sin cuisine establishments like Pidgin Kitchen & Bar and 2am: dessertbar that tweaked local hawker favorites into gastronomic innovations.

Attractions like Gardens by the Bay and the Henderson Waves captivated the band with its marvelous sights. Carlos Tañada, the band’s guitarist, boasts of his experience being driven in a Ferrari through parts of the famous Marina Bay street circuit used for the Grand Prix night races.

The band also raved about being in awe with bars in Singapore located on high rise buildings which gave them a spectacular view of the city from above. This was seconded by the event host Carla D who happened to be a Singaporean resident herself.

Up Dharma Down
capped their visit to Singapore by immersing themselves in the city’s bustling nightlife, drinking signature brews at LeVeL33 and hanging out and jamming with local musicians, The Next Movement, at The Mad Men Attic Bar.

“’All the Good Things captures the soul and spirit of the Singapore we have come to love over the years. We’re beyond proud and happy to have done something so special,” shares the band. “Travel is one of the most inspiring experiences for any artist, and our trip to Singapore was a journey that opened our eyes to another side of it. We’ve been to Singapore before but it was mostly for work and we always feel that it has something new to offer.”

Cool! I miss my college days and listening to Up Dharma. I remember before I am attending their concerts in my uniform. Haha. Now, I can't remember any of their song since I switched to kpop.

This is cool! If there is one thing that Filipinos excel it,is definitely in the field of music. I hope Singaporeans will see Filipinos in a whole new, positive light through them.
